This image has been taken on a bunker door dating back to 1941. A large complex of bunkers and huge cannons was erected shortly after the War started to serve as protection at the mouth of San Francisco Bay. There was a real concern that the Japanese might attempt an invasion of the Bay. This door has endured 60 plus years of corrosion, paint and graffiti.
