My drawings are explorations of environments that evolve from accidental marks. Poured ink and paint forms the foundation. I often follow by making gestural marks with a brush.
Once there are some arbitrary marks on the paper, I begin to see an environment emerge. A drip becomes more than just a drip, and marks begin to refer to nature. A blob becomes a form, a gesture becomes a character and a spill could be a sky.
