The mechanics are martyrs, silent saints of hammer and wrench. You’d feel like putting together 365 of them and print a calendar. Every day of the year dedicated to one of these men, of these magicians who, with four old tools and the strength of their arms, repair and rebuild everything, dominate with their will the hardest of the irons, disassemble and reassemble 15,000 c.c. engines as if they were puzzles and, with the wind blowing harder and harder, put them back clean and lubricated as if they were brand new, without a single sand grain over them.
