In Venice it is always high season, but sometimes it's higher then ever, and we mean the arts. The important exibitions usually open in spring or fall, every odd year the The Venice Biennale is held between June and October, and September is the month of the movie stars gathering for the Film Festival. Whenever you want to visit Venice it's hard not to step into the crowd every here and there. So be sure to avoid the Carnival if you want to enjoy the pace of the gondolas and experience getting lost amidst calli and campielli, sooner or later you'll find the water and then you'll know where you are. Carnival week is the craziest period of the year: the calli follow One Way signs and forget about going your way, you simply flow around with thousands of others. If you have a romantic soul, then travel in fall or winter. You'll have a chance to live the life of Venetians, enjoy churches, museums and palazzi and, when the fog that rises from the canals smooths the lines and widen the imagination, fall in love with the city.
