Tribute in Lights
Every evening, for 32 nights, from March 11th, the 6 months anniversary of the attack, till April 13th, nearly 2 millions light bulbs will shine the Tribute in Lights memorial. The columns of solid brightness will be visible from 20 miles away, and in clear night skies, possible from the Space Shuttle.

The beams are intended to bring a sense of peace and order to contrast with the images of chaos after the attack, that everybody remember, says Paul Myodo, one of the artist of the team that conceived the idea within days after September 11.

No one in the five boroughs is deprived of the fantastic view and of the positive force that the lights infuse. New York is more beautiful than ever, and we love it more than ever.

a police officer watching a TV show in a police car made me parking 100 yards away from the waterfront and didn't allow me to get a better angle, I had to shoot through a fence

on Waters Street, Brooklyn, there's a vast terrace that enjoys a fantastic view on the City across the river, but you better walk there, a street sign says something like: No Idle Area, You Idle More Then 3 Minutes, You Pay Up To $800

coming from the South and landing at LaGuardia is the best way to enter New York City since you'll fly high above the Hudson River all along Manhattan; flight AA860
