Snack time. Head to a gourmet food store and go crazy with the huge variety of Italian and French cheeses: buy some aged Parmesan, yes one can have Parmesan without the spaghetti, and a milky fresh mozzarella, a creamy Camembert and a savory goat cheese pyramid-shaped and ash-covered, maybe an Asiago and a Pont-l'Evèque as well. The salami next: fresh, aged and garlic scented. On the way home stop by a Hispanic bodega and buy one of those extra hot tiny salami, they're always so good.
The setting now. The flowers do not necessarily have to match the food color ... but, absolutely, you want them to be scentless. And, please, remember to peel the salami before you serve it.
