Simple, simple, keep it simple. Everything has to be like it was at my grandmother's time in Italy: chick peas, tomatoes, rosemary and garlic from the vegetable garden, olive oil from the farmer, bread slightly toasted. Very important, the napkins and the tablecloths have to be washed by hand and dried in the sun ... no machines, and no kidding ;)
Back then this kind of setting was an every-day forced choice, as it meant one was poor. Today it's simple chic.
